Community Development Authority
Two Alderpersons, appointed by the Mayor, and five (5) non-council members serving four (4) year staggered terms, with the approval of the Common Council, shall constitute the Community Development Authority Committee. The Authority shall exercise all powers conferred, except that of Eminent Domain, and perform all duties imposed, by state and local ordinance of the City of Gillett, and shall perform such further and other duties as may properly from time to time be required by the Common Council. Finance and Personnel
Three Alderpersons, appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Common Council, shall constitute the Finance & Personnel Committee. To this committee shall be referred all accounts, claims or other matters relating to city finances including the responsibility to annually examine department estimates and prepare the proposed budget to be submitted to the Common Council. Further, this committee shall be responsible for all city personnel matters, except those relating to the Police Department employees. Read Agendas Here

Health Protection and Licensing
Three Alderpersons, appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Common Council, shall constitute the Health, Protection and License Committee. This committee shall have all of the powers and duties conferred on local Board of Health by the Statutes of the State of Wisconsin. Further, this Committee shall be responsible for managing and superintending all matters relating to the Police and Fire Departments including personnel matters of Police Department employees. Further, this Committee shall review all applications for license and give recommendations to the Council regarding approval or rejection of the same. Read Agendas Here

Park and Cemetery
Three Alderpersons appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Common Council, shall constitute the Parks and Cemetery Committee. This Committee shall be responsible for managing and superintending all matters relating to the parks and cemetery of the City of Gillett. Read Agendas Here

Planning
Three Alderpersons appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Common Council. This Committee shall have the authority to hear and decide special exceptions and to make the recommendations to the Council concerning amendments to the Zoning Code, as well as other statutory and delegated duties. Further the committee shall be responsible for attracting prospective business and industry to the city, including related promotion and advertising of the City. The committee shall work with the existing city and county economic development organizations, including the purchase and sale of land. Read Agendas Here

Public Works
Three Alderpersons, appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Common Council, shall constitute the Board of Public Works. It shall be the duty of the Board, under the direction of the council, to superintend all matters relating or pertaining to public works, public buildings, and to keep the streets, alleys, storm sewers and public works and places in repair, and to exercise such other powers and duties as provided by law or ordinances. Tourism & Marketing Commission
No less than four (4), no more than six (6) members. One Alderperson, One Hotel & Motel Member or a member of the Gillett Business Association, and the remainder will be community members. The Commission shall have the powers and duties prescribed by Sec. 66.0615 of the Wis. Statutes. Read Agendas Here

Utility
Three Alderpersons, appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Common Council, and two citizen members appointed by the Mayor. This Committee shall be responsible for general management and control of all matters pertaining to the water and sewer utilities. This Committee shall have the power under Section 66.077 of Wisconsin Statutes and Chapter 6 of the City of Gillett Municipal Code. Read Agendas Here
