ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

            The City of Gillett Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a hearing on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 5:30 pm at City Hall, 150 N McKenzie Avenue, Gillett, Wisconsin. This hearing is open to the public.

The purpose of the hearing is to consider the request of Dan Buell to rezone his property located next to 312 East Washington Street, parcel number 2310422257578A1, from residential to commercial.

Broadband Study

Oconto County is working with New North, our regional economic development entity, to study broadband internet service in our county and across the region, to identify gaps and prioritize investment.  The study is being conducted by Design Nine, Inc.  You can support the study by taking this household survey by October 29. The survey includes use of an accurate speed test.  Each household is asked to take the survey one time, using the speed test while at home, but may use the speed test multiple times, both at home and at work, to provide more data for the study.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City of Gillett will hold a Joint Review Board (JRB) meeting on Sept. 20, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at the Gillett City Hall, located at 150 N. McKenzie Ave. The purpose of this meeting is for the JRB to review the Annual Report for TID No. 2 and No. 3. The meeting is open to the public.

Copies of the TID Annual Report(s) are available for review in the Clerk’s Office located at the Gillett City Hall, 150 N. McKenzie Ave. and will be provided upon request. Notice is hereby given that a majority of the City Council of the City of Gillett will be in attendance at the City Council Chambers for an informational meeting with the Department of Transportation to talk about improvements to WIS 22 in City Hall at 150 N McKenzie Ave, Gillett, WI 54124, Oconto County on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 5:00 pm.

WIS 22 public involvement meeting announced

Virtual public meeting to discuss proposed city of Gillett reconstruction project

(Oconto County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a virtual public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements on WIS 22 in the city of Gillett, Oconto County. Project engineers and staff will provide a short presentation, show proposed improvements, discuss schedule and traffic impacts, and go over real estate needs. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for comments and questions.

WIS 22 Reconstruction Virtual Public Involvement Meeting

  • When: 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 30 
  • Where: Virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams
  • How: Join on your computer or mobile app by going to the project website and clicking on the meeting link at the time of the meeting.

WIS 22 reconstruction is proposed from Finnegan Lake Road to the WIS 22/32 intersection. Other improvements include new storm sewer, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and concrete pavement. A full closure of WIS 22 is expected during work. Construction is currently scheduled for 2026.

Your comments are important to us to obtain input that will assist the department in the further development and refinement of a final design. The same information presented at the virtual meeting is also available on the project website. A comment form with pre-paid mailer is also available on the website. Comments can also be made via email or phone by contacting one of the project staff listed on the website.
